    It should be, but it is not.

    It stands for New Conception Construction. Rado came up with this idea for a very effective waterproof system.

    They enclosed the movement in a rubber bladder, which also provided some extra shockproofing. This one is torn, so no longer watertight.

    Seen from the front , it envelops the dial.

    Then you take the case front

    Pop the movement in and screw the back in place. Screwing the case together forces the bladder up tight against the glass of the crystals sealling the movement inside.

    Et voila. 250 metre depth rating without a screw down crown. In fact the areas between the lugs don't even have a case. You can see the blue bladder if you remove the bracelet.
