    When your strap costs more than the watch it's on

    I've seen it, but I've not yet dared to do it myself.....tempt me

    Don't be a chicken, plus, it's an excuse to get another watch, presumably one that cost more than the strap, and then transfer the strap to the new watch to restore order to the universe.

    Ah... no can do. Most expensive strap I have is a NATO.

    My most expensive strap cost less than my least expensive watch, so no can do for me! The idea doesn't feel right though... seems kind of like buying a $500 car and throwing $1000 rims on it.

    Some of my vintages cost so little that to buy a strap worth putting on my wrist cost another 30-50%

    A good looking watch is good looking, no matter it's cost, and sometimes the strap that brings out the best in it might have to be a little pricey....

    I had a leather strap on one of my Seagull 1963s. Pretty sure the strap cost more than the watch.

    Unfortunately, I do not remember the details of the strap.
