I have taken my Olympus Toughs into the ocean more times than I can remember and two of them have been very close to the max depth rating. They have all worked fine, but one of them has really been acting up for the last year and now I think it might be because of an excursion I took one year ago today. We went out to see a natural wonder on a day where the Atlantic was running 12 foot waves. I thin this is the exact moment that started my cameras demise.

Even after a day of scuba diving my camera has never felt as sticky or gritty as immediately after this moment. I actually had to switch to my backup camera as the lens was completely covered in salt. It probably didn't help that it had to sit that way in the heat and sun for an hour or so as we walked back to our lodgings.

They are meant to withstand it, but I think the mist was the killer.

My fellow photography enthusiasts, what are you using for a back pack or messenger bag or sling bag or whatever?

I have about 6 brands total for my back packs and messenger bags.

I like Domke because they are inconspicuous.

I use a padded Canon branded bag with a shoulder strap. Bought it eons before when I had a Nikon D40. It's nylon, padded, and is roughly 8"X10"X8". It has three chambers and an outer pocket. I can easily carry my Canon m100 with two spare lenses, two spare batteries, and charger. I am thinking of using a backpack simply because it is easier to carry on difficult terrain.

I really enjoy these videos. Images from mid twentieth century US that remind me of old magazines like Life and Look.
