Question for all you pros out there

My, new to me, Olympus SP-720UZ came with a standard friction fit lens cap. The "clamping" force came from four small strips of very thin foam tape. This has since worn off as it is roughly 7 years old now.

What can I use in its place as the cap keeps dropping off?

    Thanks in advance...

    Why not fit new tape

    had a google

    https://www.google.com/search?client...ive+foam+strip

1mm or less available as well as thicker.
If you have a local seal stockist could be worth a trip , or at least a call to check their stock.
    Best of luck mate

    Get Felt not foam ....

You can buy self adhesive backed felt .... and cut to size
    Example https://www.amazon.co.uk/Self-Adhesi...11431588&psc=1

    another: https://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/self-adhesive-felt

or you can buy neoprene ‘elasticated’ sock covers

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Soft-Elas...8AAOSwYlJW2XTw

there’s another that keeps annoying me on Instagram as an advert but i can’t find that right now

Unfortunately not. This is a bridge camera with a 26x zoom that automatically sticks out slightly from the main body as soon as you switch on.

Like for most gadgets that need a case, nowadays the cases/covers are a complete market sector in their own right... like for tablets and phones.
Gives them the chance to sell a case according to how much the customer wants to spend on one.

Pretty much true. My EOS m100 can be purchased with a cover, but they are quite expensive for the nice looking ones.

The main problem for the Cannon is that it is too large for a small case/pocket fit and too small to benefit from a nice case.

    YMMV,

Ah, a bridge camera. Going to an elastic stretch over type may be your best option if.you cannot rebuild the original.

Anyone ever used a bridge camera?
I have the aforementioned Olympus SP720UZ and wanted to take a photo of tonight's moon.
    Forget auto, it's crap.
Tried "P" mode and set ISO to 100 and 200 but I can't figure out if I can change shutter speed or aperture.

You'll never do the moon in auto

    I don't think that camera has a M (anual) mode ?
