These are exactly the sorts of helpful threads that make a forum useful to seasoned collectors and beginners alike. I admit that I have been tempted by the 50 year Diastar on sale at Ashford, but I fear it could open yet a new box of snakes in my attempt to shrink the collection. Thanks for the tips, Henry and Scott!
Too many watches, not enough wrists.

    Henry dons his enabler's cap.

You know it's pretty hard to get that much watch for that little money. Tungsten case, sapphire crystal, rock solid higher grade ETA movement, solid bracelet AND cufflinks. I believe you like smaller watches, correct? You were meant to have a Diastar...

And all this time I believed you weren't evil.

Yes to all of the above. No because I do not need any more watches. !!!

None of us need any more watches but I'm sure you want a Diastar!

Henry is right though, a deal like this is extremely hard to beat.

This is a watch forum. That is an invalid excuse.

I think it becomes a valid excuse after one's collection exceeds 50 watches. Then an intervention might be appropriate. Maybe we need a permanent thread for that... "Talk Me Down From This Watch Ledge" sorta thing.... Bunch freakin' enablers around here... sheesh.

(edit - sorry, I didn't mean to derail your excellent thread with my whining about liking the 50 year Diastar... really I just wanted to say thanks!)

I, for one, enjoy derailed threads. My mind does not work in a linear fashion.

I can't find the 50 year Diastar at Ashford. Probably a good thing. Please do not provide a direct link.
