Ohhhhhhhh (Yeah I recall it now) - and yes I've seen those movies many times (They're done to death over here in recent years)

    Thanks

My S4 needs a new sensor. The sensor is inside of the DSG unit. It will cost $7900 to replace. So the S4 is dead. 2011. Never would have happened with a proper manual.

I traded my E60 M5 and about 2 weeks later the SMG pump died. BMW dealer quoted $12,000 for the repair. The sequential gearboxes are nice, but they can be expensive to repair.

Did you get the car home? Where is it? Maybe someone on the forum can help?

Nah, we're going to sell it to the dealership in Pittsburgh. I think I want to replace it with a Golf R, but I'm not sure when. I might just go with one car for the winter and take Uber whenever there's snow.

I'm pretty certain if you can get a manual on a S4 it's probably pretty expensive to have the clutch changed. Do you have any decent independents locally that specialize in Audi? I could never keep the 2002 XK8 on the road if I had to do it through dealers. My local independent was a lead mechanic for the NY Jaguar dealership. He still has all the connections and all the special boxes and software to work on any age Jag. I know on somethings he has been half to 1/3 of what the dealer would charge.
    Cheers,

    Michael

Tell everyone you saw it on IWL!

Yes, local specialists are nice to know. I finally found a guy to work on the Lotus (he used to work for the dealership, now he's started his own shop...works on Lotus, Aston Marin, an even older Ferraris). Way better deal! Bonus he races old Miatas so I'm sure he could help me with the MX5 when the warranty is up. I'm actually thinking of a Turbo set up for the Miata down the road - nothing major, just a little extra push while keeping the linear acceleration feel). I've already got a better exhaust, but have not bothered to install it yet.
