Another SKX mod

Hi all, I'm slowly but surely modding my SKX

So as I bought it





Fresh from the Philippines with a horribly dull orange repro face

First port of call was loosing the horribly stiff standard rubber strap...
It's been on Nato's, a shark mesh, leather
But currently residing on an animal Velcro strap (which suits it to a T!)
Pics of that later.....

So first proper mod was replacing the dial with a new standard dial and chapter ring in black(boring I know..but I really like the look of the standard face)



Next, a medium height double done sapphire crystal...this one mod alone lifts the watch so much





So that's how we're currently sitting, but I do have a bezel insert and new hands on the way from Dagaz
I like the black second hand in mine but hate the gold hour and minute hands.

After that, next stop will be like man of Kent, I'd love to fit the 6r15 movement, preferably a nice seiko one with their script on the wheel.
If that can be done then potentially a display back would be next on the cards.

I've never been a bracelet fan with this watch...

nice mate coming along nicely I decide not to sell the sea urchin as have decide if I can hold on to it will use it as a base for a mod some where in the future ..

yours is coming along nicely but if you did need a bracelet am sure I got one we could trade if you decide to go that way. think my like for this one is a sharky

And little package from Dagaz arrived today...



Parts are nice but score 9/10 and not the 11/10 I was expecting.
Still nice though.

For the price I paid I'm very disappointed the bezel insert didn't even come with a backing...

But the overall look is cool.

6r15 to go....

I always enjoy other people custom mod their 007/009, i think they are brave and i salute the results..

strangely, i just like my 007 as basic as possible... the only two wish are not even related to the watch.. i wish i also have the 009 and also the black new turtle

i paid inflated price for mine in my country, but it is a keeper.. i can see why you like the black dial, like mine as well..
