Thread: another bracelet fit/compatibility.

    another bracelet fit/compatibility.

I've been looking around the back catalogue of omega watches and spotted something.

The old Broad Arrow Speedmaster (3551) models had a five-part link Speedmaster bracelet that had a Planet Ocean style curve to the top surface (the older Broad Arrow model had a straight bracelet).

Does anyone know if that bracelet fits the 42mm 2500 Planet Ocean? It'd be a nice addition to the strap/bracelet collection of it does.

I don't think it will fit out of the box because the holes in the lugs are not in the same place. I was able to get 2500 PO rubber on a SMP using curved spring bars but that isn't an option with a bracelet.

I thought I remember someone putting a PO bracelet on a Speedy using AT end links. I'll see if I can find the pic when I'm at my other computer.

Agree. I know someone who was trying to do the same thing and found out the lug holes on the case will not match up to that bracelet.

well, I know the regular Speedmaster bracelet doesn't fit but the 3551 is the automatic model which as far as I was aware has a different thicker case which would normally equate to different lug/pin position.

On the other hand, I don't recall seeing many people mention that they have this watch and even fewer people talking about the bracelet.
Are you sure they were trying this and not the Pro bracelet?

Here is a second pic. Check out the gap between the end link and the case.
