Looks decent!

Prisoners -- really mixed feelings. Normally I'd say OK to good, but... I first had a thought of who done it in the first half an hour, and then I was pretty sure somewhere before the 50 minute mark, and I was right. Slooow. Acting OK-ish, Gyllenhaal far from shining somehow, though. Mediocre? But then if it wasn't that riveting or well done, why did I watch it all the way through? 2.5 hours. I don't even think I was particularly invested. Maybe it was my primordial stare into the fire moment, I don't know.

I don’t think I fully appreciated Prisoners until the second time I watched it. I liked it the first time, but compared to some of Denis Villeneuve’s other stuff, it didn’t blow me away. But on a second viewing, I was able to dive more deeply into it and it really shone after that.

Subject to change, but I don't see myself giving it another watch.

Because it's bad or because it's harrowing? I won't rewatch it any time soon but only because it's stressful.

I wouldn't want to call it bad but it's not good enough for my tastes. Emotionally, it didn't get through to me at all. There was a potential but the execution was not there (hehe, see the pun?). I found this one much more engaging.

Watched Mr Holmes tonight. It was made in 2015, but i don’t go to the cinema and don’t do subscriptions, so I record things on the terrestrial channels.
A beautiful and elegant film, and you can forget how good Ian McKellen is.
