Here's something that may be joining the stable

    Hey Cats,

Popped in to visit the boys at the von shop today and bumped into a fellow collector who had some nice pieces to show me. Looked this over, a lovely little piece. Needs a cleaning and new crystal. Currently in "accurate" running condition, the heavy gold filled case is showing almost no brassing whatsoever. Even the strap is ancient on this pretty little thing. He wants to play a bit big on a trade for it in my opinion, however there's other pieces in my collection he's eying as well so hopefully he'll take a couple from there instead.

Anybody have any idea what this is about. It is not a recase as the inside of the case back etc is marked Rolex as does the very familiar movement.

If I do pick it up I'm going to keep the old strap on it, the combination is pretty fantastic in my opinion.

    Peace,
    Preston

Really nice, Preston. It would be interesting to know its' history. Might also look good on a black Bas and Lokes strap, like JP just got, when you want it to look more sporty.

Thanks Jane. I like your thinking, can you link me to the thread that has this strap please?

    Peace,

Really nice looking vintage watch, With a B & L strap on it, it should look really sweet!

Thanks Nokie, we're entering into trade talks tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have a nice piece to overhaul within the next week.

Aren't vintage rolexes usually very expensive? You sure it's all genuine?
