I hope this isn't a harbinger of the future
You all may recall that my spousal unit recently had had a hip retreaded. Now first let me say that with her many, many doctors visits over the last 10 years I've seen a lot of nice watches (even caught a few looking at my wrist so there are some who LIKE watches as much as us here).
Anyway, when we met her surgeon for the first time I was (pleasantly) surprised to see him wearing a white 'splorer II. I somehow took comfort knowing the guy wielding the bone saw on my wife had good taste in watches. (Odd thought but I'm just being honest here)
Even cooler was the "night doc" at the hospital sporting a Full Bar Constellation auto just like mine.
But yesterday at her 1 month check up with the surgeon I found myself looking at his wrist and came face to face with an..............this hurts...........iWatch.
Hopefully it was just a fling, a minor indiscretion, even one too many martini's at lunch. But I just feel like he's a defector. or something.

Just be grateful he left his Invicta at home...

Even a broken watch shows correct time once or twice a day. I ought to know, I have a few!

I would take comfort in this. There are watch people and gadget people...sometimes both. Also many who own "work watches" and "play watches" . I love my Explorer 2. I also love my Suunto Ambit. I don't really connect the two to the same interest as they both serve different purposes and spark my interest in different ways. Also, I wear a 30 dollar solar Casio along with my Suunto to work as a mechanical engineer I find them to serve their purposes well there. I have a close friend who happens to be a doctor. He wears a Suunto Core to work for the last 5-6 years but has an amazing collection. Many such as doctors, engineers and other professional fields that don't involve sitting at a desk the majority of the day have separate collections between work and leisure. *edit -as someone else stated as long as it's not an invicta or even worse...a diamond encrusted G Shock I wouldn't worry

I'd take the iWatch over all else. Don't think trendy, think current. This is a doc who's reading all the medical journals. Oversized (relative to wrist) might cause for concern, but even then you want surgeons with big egos. I'd be most concerned if he was wearing one of those hippy wristbands.

Maybe his sphygmomanometer broke so he's using the one in his watch?

The Dude Abides
My wife is one, and I can tell you most docs like the hi-tech stuff.

A doctor who wears a pulsometer spends way too much time on watch forums! His handle would either be Sawbones1932 or Watchthemdie.

Why not, him being a hip specialist?
Sounds like he's just trying too hard to be a hipster
