Breitling and their watch boxes
I don't want to begin a copy thread so has anyone already posted about Breitling ending the use of watch boxes?

Breitling and their watch boxes
It's not really true. The packaging which was reduced from Breitlings ridiculous box in a box in a box in a box in a case to two less boxes and a down graded case.
Here it the one the Heroes watch came in.

Same one my 1959 came in. I approve, although I don’t approve of them playing the “we’re doing it for the environment” card when it’s really all about cost cutting and increasing their profits (I certainly didn’t see them passing the savings along to the customer).

What do you think of the digital warranty following the watch and owners aspect?

Honestly I hadn’t thought much about the warranty, and hadn’t looked at the terms. What do you mean that it follows the watch and owner? If you sell the watch to someone else, the warranty transfers or doesn’t transfer?

I admit I have only skimmed the article. I think the warranty follows the watch and each successive owner can put his name on the record. The article also said something about how that could assist in theft recovery.

Breitling and their watch boxes
i think this is just Breitling catching up with the industry. Many including Rolex and Omega have done this for a while, but not the way Breitling has. The Breitling has this sort of display screen for a card. I do not see a place for a battery in the unit and mine has one that the screen reads inactive and one that has the watch and AD info and warranty start date and period. Seems to have the same info as a card except I do not see an owner name on it. The Active one has this sort of logo type inductive grid on the back where the inactive one has nothing.
Not going to show the display side since it has watch details. Maybe this grid appears when activated. I saw them put it is some sort of docking station to activate. For Rolex the cards show up in the mail a week or so later after you have the watch. At least that is how it works at my AD. I can't remember if that is what happened with the one I bought from the other AD.
