Cool objects, designs, and other desiderata

I thought this would be an interesting thread to just share and talk about cool objects and things you own or otherwise like.

I'll start with these four that I own (not my own pics) and two that I would like to own:

RenderMan walking teapot from a SIGGRAPH conference long, long time ago:



An authentic Ushabti Egyptian funeral figurine from ~300 B.C.:



Exact and near-perfect reproduction of Rodin's The Thinker (based on the one currently at the Rodin Museum at Stanford's Cantor Arts Center):

And now for the two that I would like to own:

I'll add two more to the list of things to buy, as a man who loves both of these games.

Roman-themed pewter and marble chess set:



A genuine teak Go table -- I used to own one (not this good; mine was probably made of rosewood) and gifted it to a friend over a decade ago because it required you to sit on the floor when playing it. I'd like to have a genuine wooden Go table made that you can sit on a chair and play on.

Cool thread. I think you can learn a lot about someone through the objects with which they choose to surround themselves. I'll have to take some pictures tomorrow.

Steampunk themed Crookes' radiometer lamp:



Vintage brass dive helmet (preferably authentic, with verifiable history):

I was at one point about 2 years ago less than an inch away from buying an authentic diving helmet with a real history. It had a very pronounced patina: the one in you picture looks like it was made yesterday, someone shined that up real nice like. The one I was going to buy also had a noticeable gouge in it where the wearer was one accidentally hit from a band-fired spear gun, which I thought was also very cool.

But, not only was it very expensive, I would also have to ship it home and worry about it getting there, which was a heavy expense all on its own. So I begrudgingly left it.

I love to play Chess, but I have never heard of a go table. I'll have to google it.

I always had an urge to have a skull on my desk at work.
Last year I bought a high quality plastic one. Sadly I don't think it is easy to buy a real one anymore.
