**** Rado what is the best starter watch ****

Well I was chatting Rado early and have saw a few stunner's thanks to Scott and Mr.Henry they have some stunner's and I have fallen for there charms some are a bit out there but even them have a charm all there own so I know the top end is quite expensive .

so say let's be thinking in the price range of a second hand monster say

so what would be your hint's and tips ?

love to see lot of photos I mean lot's even if not in the ball park money wise
    of different models
any ideas how to spot the fakes

well I know if I am looking at a voyager or companion with a see through back that it a fake or frank

but that is about it so come on tell all I know you want to

That Purple Gazelle is pretty special but, with an integrated bracelet, you'd struggle to fit a nato.

The biggest problem with vintage Rados is that there are so many redials out there. I'm always suspicious of a black dial as that is the painters favourite for covering patina, stains, etc.
As for a best starter watch, it depends if you want tungsten carbide or stainless steel. There are so many different styles, some subtle and some totally outrageous, that you can spend forever trying to decide.

One of the rarest Rados, the unnumbered Diastar. This was the world's first scratchproof watch in 1962 and was quickly replaced by the Diastar 1 with a slightly improved case construction:

To be honest, given your dislike of bracelets, you may be better looking at some of the steel or Alpine models such as this Gorner:

straps and natos I can wear but the bracelet dig's in to my wrist bone so I think I have one that is comfortable to wear on the bracelet the rest have to be on as I said nato or strap

This is a nice daydream: work out your fantasy Rado.... and then see if it exists.

    For me it would be....
Rectangular case with chunky bezel (tall not wide)
    Non integrated bracelet
    Insane dial texture
    Rich dial colour
    Vertical date/day
