Good news for all you blokes out there with ladies with impeccable taste and a keen discernment for fine craftsmanship, Grand Seiko now is offering two models for the fairer sex, ​with automatic movements! The STGR001 and STGR003 released last week both come in at 35mm, the 001 features diamond markers and a 3-link bracelet, while the 003 has traditional GS indices with a leather strap. Both have the stamped guilloche dial similar to the SBGH035 hi-beat special released last year, dual-curved sapphire crystals, 12mm thickness and the same GS standard accuracy guarantee of the mens range.

If you're single, perhaps the best news however is the movement. These watches use the *new* 9S61, which is the 9S65 movement without a date. The last no-date automatic Grand Seikos were from the original GS mechanical collection unveiled when the brand was re-invented in the late 90s, using the 9S51 movement. So this looks very promising for those looking for a no-date Grand Seiko but not seeing much they like in the manual-wind only current models using the 9S64.
